More Details

Tamelin (also called tamale, asiko, and as sikko in Guinea & Sierra Leone) are traditional rectangular frame drums of the Ashanti and Ga peoples of Ghana.
Held by the cross piece in the back, it is played with the dominant hand achieving open and closed sounds. Tension can be adjusted using the tuning blocks inside the frame.

We recommend using good quality headphones for all our sound grabs – they’re recorded at high fidelity for your listening pleasure!
