This synthetic skin discs consist of 3-ply laminate with a polyester centre that sounds as close to a natural skin as you will find.
Comes in 0.4mm thickness and is available in disc sizes for all djembes and most drums.

Our premium synthetic drum heads are made of three layers, consisting of a special type of paper called calendared NOMEX. They are attached to a polyester film, using an advanced adhesive system that can withstand high temperatures.
We’ve searched far and wide and tried many varieties of synthetic heads.
This is by far the best we have come across.
