The tama is a small hourglass shaped talking drum from Senegal and Mali.

How can you tell a djembe from a bougarabou? Firstly, the shape. Bougarabous have a V shape, whereas djembes have more of an hour glass figure. Secondly the skin – bougarabous are skinned with cow, whereas djembes are usually skinned with goat
