Shea Butter (Organic)

The drummers moisturiser! Shea butter is our favourite good-for-what-ails-you-treatment for drummers hands.

The English word “shea” comes from s’í, the tree’s name in the Bamana language of Mali (which just happens to be where the first djembes originated). It is a natural derivative of the Shea tree (Vitellaria paradoxa).

Shea butter has anti-inflammatory, emollient and humectant properties. Used in lip gloss, soap, cooking oil and ointments, it’s a powerful moisturiser which is also used to condition traditional African percussion instruments like djembe shells, calabash gourds and leather tuning straps.
