Our Second Grade djembes are unique drums with small imperfections and big discounts! They are all covered under our full Warranty so you can rest assured that their little scars and knocks will never affect your djembe experience. Second Gradies are unique drums with a little extra character. Some are gently pre-loved, most are brand new. This African djembe was carved from Twenaboa in Ghana. Twenaboa is a medium density timber, lighter than hardwoods. These shells tend to have great bass ranges and offer great portability. Ghanaian carving styles usually result in twenaboa drums with low bass and strong slaps.
About the Hide
Thinner skins produce resonant bass notes and very bright crisp sounds that lend themselves to soloing. They are also softer on the hands. We take care to find the best hide for the shell to maximise its dynamic range.
We offer FREE LIFE LONG TUNING on this djembe. Just drop your drum off in our St Kilda shop and we’ll do our best to crank it on the spot for you, or you can pick it up the next day. We’ll also give you advice on how to best look after your drum.
Comes complete with an AD Drum Care and Tuning Guide to help you get the most play out of your drum.
