About the Timber
This Dunun is carved from Ghanaian Twenaboa. Twenaboa is a medium density timber with a golden grain. These shells tend to have great bass ranges and offer great portability.
About the Hide
Cow skins give dununs their powerful voices and durability. Thick skins are rich and warm and once settled they have a very melodic quality. We take care to find the best hide for the shell to maximise its dynamic range.
