About our West African Djembes
We import our djembe shells from West Africa every year, supporting carvers
who we have befriended over the last decade. We avoid buying endangered
wood types.
We use:
Mady Keita and Bruno skin our drums in Melbourne. Mady has been honing his craft for 30 years. His sensibility with skins and wood, and patience in tensioning the drum reflect themselves in beautifully finished, but more importantly wonderfully sounding drums.
Call us to arrange a drum-making workshop with Mady or Bruno. You can hand pick your own drum shell, rope colour, skin etc.
Beautifully carved , affordable drums. Perfect for first time drummers, Schools and Corporate give aways.
Please note - We use high quality rope (not alpine rope) and natural goat skins
(not chemical washed) on our drums, to give a much better sound and durability than 99% of other imitation djembes - Beware buying on Ebay!
Discounts available for bulk purchases.
