Kids Parties

How Are the Parties Run? | Where to hold your Party?

Kids love our Drum and Dance Parties! The chance to get involved and jam out is never lost on young people. We always receive stella feedback from kids and parents alike

Be it a birthday party, bar mitzvah, graduation, celebration of achievement or just a special treat, we can bring something special to your event

Our workshops are usually a mix of West African Drum and Dance, though if you have something specific in mind just let us know

There's no minimum age - we've run parties with mums and bubs through to teenagers. We can come out to your preferred venue, or you're welcome to come to our new African Studio in St Kilda to host the event

How are the parties run?

To kick it off, our teacher puts on a short performance to get everyone excited about the music.

Then we move onto to making the music together and having lots of fun! For the drumming, we show some basic techniques, play musical games and have a great jam. Then we get everyone into some great African dancing! We often make time for questions at the end too

The workshop itself normally goes for 45 - 60 minutes (a little less for younger children and sometimes longer for older ones).

You can also purchase mini djembe drums and key rings as gifts at special prices - contact us on the details below to find out more

Where to hold your party?

We are happy to come to you to, or you are welcome to come to our African Studio (252 St Kilda, St Kilda) to host the event.

When we come to you we bring all of the drums and shakers needed to have a great time.

If you come to us we'll have everything needed on hand. You're welcome to hire our Studio for some additional time for drinks and cake after the workshop. We have a kitchenette and trestle tables for your use and the kids always love looking around the interesting instruments and art we have

Thanks also to Alena for helping the kids put on a fabulous performance at the end of the session - it was great to see their beaming faces full of pride at the end. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend you in the future!"
